Just Call Me A “Dirty Girl”

If you know me, then you know I’m game for just about any adventure you can throw my way. I love hiking, kayaking, cycling, playing soccer, swimming … as long as my poor back can handle it, I’m in. But if you know me, you also know that I’m a little OCD. Well, probably more than a little, if truth be told. I don’t like my hands to be dirty, and I’m sure as hell going to walk the long way around a mud puddle.

Only, on March 23 I’ll be doing both: getting my hands muddy, and jumping into the damn mud puddle. The Dirty Girl 5K Mud Run. Oi vey.

So pray for me, people. Pray that I don’t go into Monk-like convulsions when my feet hit the squishy bottom of the mud pit, or that I don’t just fall out when the cracks of my fingers get muddy. Really, I’d rather have to run a double-5K to avoid the mud part of the day, but I’m trying to be a good sport in 2013 … and I’ll be joining my fellow Peak Physique boot campers for an ass-kickin’ day in the mud. I’ll keep you updated!

Have you ever participated in these mud run events? Got any tips for how to keep my hands, and my shoes, clean?
